Died the moment I "arrived" at the red ending (minor spoilers)

When I reached the red star, my ship was in dire danger of falling apart... But determined to reach the ending I got into the station... However to my surprise actually caused some hull damage to my vessel (I'm pretty sure no other stations do this) and it was enough to cause me to loose the game as my ship was destroyed as the cube greeted me.

Fortunately I managed to complete the red ending later on although it was very close to failing as I hard to dismantle half my ship to succeed to achieve it
