Hi,

I'm under Linux (Ubuntu 14.10). I have several suggestions:

- keyboard shortcuts: this looks mandatory to me; having to click at every step is burdensome, especially when clickable elements can appear at all corners at the screen; one example is being able to use arrow keys to scroll in the galaxy screen

- video settings: it would be nice to set the resolution, windowed mode; bonus points for maximum refresh rate (the game takes 100% CPU here - on a Core i5 2500K - I get the impression this isn't right)

Thanks!

Hi Tigrou,

Thanks for your feedback!

Moving the map with the arrow keys is a very good idea.
I'll forward this to our developer.

Video settings + performance optimization are coming in the next update.

Hi.

I think using the right click would be great too for shortcuts:
- when drilling/probing, by right click on ressources in the "Probe" section on the left, the ressources goes automatically in the ship's cargo. Automatic sorting when doing that, so we don't have to do it manually by drag and droping.
-right click can be use has a "Go back" option. for example on the "Ship" screen, right click anywhere would do the same thing as clicking on the "<-" button in the bottom left on the screen. And when landed on planet, right clicking anywhere to "Take off".

Also, open the main menu with Esc should be handy!

That's all for now, thank you.

Voronlisk I hae to agree that I find myself constantly attempting to collect my resources with a Right click instead of a click and drag, and I find that I happen to drop stuff a lot clicking and dragging with my touchpad on my laptop. I was also thinking that for screen navigation we could use maybe the forward and backward keys on the mouse, so that if you have traveled to a system and go to an orbit you can click the back button on the mouse, and go back to the system screen then forward to go back to the orbit screen. This obviously would not work, or would pop a warning if going forward would cause a usage of assets (i.e. fuel, o2) but would make for some quicker navigation.

For a touchscreen the game is very well optimized but for the desktop versions I really think making it more mouse/hotkey friendly would make it a better experience. Even the option to set these in a settings window would be helpful. Being able to press "D" for drill, would be nice, "E" for encounter... etc... again, hotkeys should be able to be set... but defaults would work here. Not everything needs a hot key of course but I think these would make the game play more fluid on the desktop versions.

I completely agree on the need for hotkeys.
but i was hoping that on the galaxy map the arrow keys moved the camera but wasd moved the selected destination around. Then enter or E to select the destination and travel. Bonus points for making the mouse wheel not only zoom the galaxy map but allow you to zoom in to the solar system map.
lastly; I find that the buttons are often spaced very far apart (large screen 1600X900) and can be clumsy to use with only a mouse. So while the hotkeys would go great lengths to alleviating this a contextual radial menu accessed by holding the middle or right mouse button down would also be a great option to consider.

Yeah imagine my pain at 6032x1080 or so on an eyefinity... Possibly holding the spacebar to bring up a radial menu in the v center of the screen, scaled to the vertical resolution for us ultra wide screeners..... I like the zoom idea a lot, however, it should only to max telescope range in fitting with the original, possibly as you zoom in on the solar system your on it slowly magnifies the current solar system instead of a simple switch, and possibly apply this to systems that have been visited, not sure in that one maybe on all with the interferometer? Another idea would be the ability to add notes to the star map... It's really a simple function that any paper map has AND any digital map in existence today worth a darn. That may be off topic though

Hi,

Next patch (which should arrive tomorrow) let you use arrow keys in order to move the galaxy view.
Context menus are displayed when right-clicking on the resources and technologies.
And other features that I hope you'll enjoy Smile

Heya. Moving the map may be doable too while pressing the scroll button and mooving the mouse in the same time. Web surfing like action.
Wink

And can we hope being able to rotate the "map" ?
