Found a better ship in the nick of time

Running low on oxygen. The last few fuel runs and mining expeditions have filled the holds with resources that can take me farther. But I am Croesus with Damocles hanging over my head. I am dying of my humanity, each breath a reminder I should not be so far from home.

I space fold to two yellow dwarfs in succession hoping to find life in every sense of the word. Failure. I curse fickle fate. I am nearing my last breath- no air to spare for a last laugh. I see a black hole ahead. I think of one last adventure into the abyss.

In the depths of space- I see it. Glinting more brightly than gold, it is hope and orgasm incarnate- An abandoned vessel!

Amazing. It is a spheroid with an advanced Eco-system, I am sure I will get farther Out There.

Love the story telling. Have you ever seen red dwarf? Of course you have. It's so ace rimmer. "Any idiot can hug the event horizon of a black hole and loop the loop around a spinning singularity then slam the engines into reverse and blast out of an imploding nebula" classic line and the way you write just adds the same excitement. Well done
