Red target star unreachable

Okay, maybe this is the issue of being unable to scroll the screen thus a bug.
Closer to the red target star, after Death encounter, I am in a situation when no next stars are closer to it are on my screen. I mean I can reach any star there with 6 or 7 power units but there are no stars. The only way to scroll is to click a star and finally I reached a star where there are none stats to click in order to scroll. I went back several time and tried all routes, all ending in the same situation. Why is it possible? No matter of my setup, equipment or resources the star is unreachable unless I miss something.

Ah, I see now after experiencing the same again: my telescope was destroyed and technology forgotten because of Death.
