Types of ships

I have found a couple of ships just wondering if there is more. I found the crystal ship, the ship that is in the enemy fleet when you meet them. The one with very little space (inventory like a cross), stingray, of course the starter ship and the round one with a tree. Is that it or is there more? My favorite so far is the tree one.

I have also seen one that looks kinda like the top part of a medieval castle tower and has a checkerboard-pattern inventory.

Does it have the four squares you can't use?

Something like that, I only got it once so I can't really remember. :/
All I remember is there was a pattern of usable and unusable fields...

speaking of ships, what specifically do the rankings mean? like environment, resistance and power? does that mean that the higher power, the more fuel it uses? why would you want that? and higher resistance means stronger hull maybe? higher environment means less oxygen usage?

As far as I can tell, the greater your power ranking, the less fuel you use traveling from planet to planet/landing/taking off and the greater your jump range.

The higher your enviroment, the less oxygen you use while travelling and the higher resistance the less damage you take from approaching gas giants, landing on life bearing planets, getting near to stars and random damage-dealing events.

I keep finding the same ships. The round one, the stingray shaped one and the one that looks like a small cruiser

I've only ever found the stingray and the crystal ships. probably 4 or 5 times, no other ones. course, I'm kinda terrible at this game Haha, absolutely love it but I always die very fast.

Yeah you sound like me Jarmer. Nearly got to the so called green ending but that's about it. I think too much of it relies on luck but it keeps me coming back hoping that this time might be the time I get somewhere but it never happens.............but it will

I've found stingray, cruiser, dragonfly, ice cube, and tree ship after 5 hours. When did the castle ship appear? It says there are 8 ships so including the starter ship that's 7.. There is an unknown ship out there folks

But we'll definitively add new ships in the future...

Regarding the castle-like ship, does anyone know what the four white unusable squares are for? They won't hold modules, module upgrades, elements, or Omega. If they serve no purpose then why not just omit them from the grid altogether? Thanks.

the layout of the squares balances the ships i think. that is why there are 4 unusable squares in the castle ship...
